Frequently Asked Questions

What does Hunyuan Qi mean?

In the science of Zhineng Qigong the specific term ‘Hunyuan’ refers to the merging of substances and their transformation into a whole entity (or holon). Everything in the universe is formed through at least two things merging and transforming – the universe consists of these innumerable holons; the famous yin-yang symbol represents this principle. Hunyuan Qi is formed by the unification of the three substances: physical matter, Qi and information.

There are two sources of Hunyuan Qi, also referred to as ‘life force energy’ – the Qi of nature (external Qi), and the Qi of the human body (internal Qi), and these two are in continual interrelation and interpenetration – they transform, balance and benefit each other, and thus represent the very evolution and regeneration of life.

All material has Hunyuan Qi within and around it. The Hunyuan Qi around a physical entity is called the Qi field. The larger or denser the volume of material, the bigger and more concentrated the Hunyuan Qi field will be.

What does Zhineng Qigong mean?

Zhineng Qigong utilises Qi as a form of information capable of effecting physical changes in targeted areas during Qi therapy. ‘Zhi’ means intelligence or wisdom, and can be literally translated as “knowing the source”. ‘Neng’ means potential, abilities, including the body’s abilities to heal itself. Together, these terms encompass our highest human capacities, including brain functions, physical abilities and using our consciousness to overcome any kind of challenge. Zhineng Qigong is therefore a type of Qigong intended to develop intelligence and improve one’s competences and abilities to reach our full human potential. It is also an excellent method to activate the body’s self-healing abilities and increase overall life quality. Through regular practice one can also develop paranormal intelligence.

Zhineng Qigong was created in the early 1980’s by Dr. Pang Ming after many years of intensive study of different types of qigong, Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Zhineng Qigong can be a described as an ‘holistic system’ that is based on the laws of nature and developed to promote physical, emotional and mental well-being; Zhineng Qigong offers many methods and tools and is one of the world’s most effective self-health care management system.  It is the most widely respected and practiced Qigong in China, where it is intended to improve abilities and reach full human potential.

How does Zhineng Qigong and Hunyuan Qi Therapy assist with self-healing?

The foundation for a successful self-healing journey is regular and diligent Zhineng Qigong practice. By practicing the gentle, slow yet highly effective movements and visualizations based on the profound theories of Zhineng Qigong Science, a new body-mind harmony arises, body functions are strengthened, Qi and blood flow are improved.  Self-healing abilities are activated in a natural way, innate powers are ignited, diseases can dissolve and a state of overall health can be reached.

A successful self-healing journey can be supported and accelerated by receiving external Hunyuan Qi Therapy, based on the theories of Zhineng Qigong Science, whereby a trained Hunyuan Qi Therapist creates a Qi field for healing, sends Qi and information for recovery and rejuvenation, while clearing blockages and helping to activate the self-healing process.  A Hunyuan Qi Therapist will also advise on specific Zhineng Qigong methods to practice at home that will be most beneficial and effective with regards to specific health intentions.

Whether you practice Zhineng Qigong by yourself or you receive a Hunyuan Qi Therapy treatment,  you will work on these four levels to help reach your self-healing intention:

  • Strengthening the functions of the body Qi field
  • Strengthening the functions of the membrane system
  • Restoring and strengthening the functions of the Qi and blood-exchange pathways
  • Changing and evolving negative emotional states, limiting thought processes and behavioural patterns

Zhineng Qigong practice and Hunyuan Qi Therapy sessions can also improve the efficacy of medication and other medical treatments such as surgery.
